I took this photo of a hobby farm near our house just days before our first two real frosts, a month later than usual. Like blackswamp_girl, I seem to be on a quest to see how long I can go without turning on the furnace. Once you've put the furnace on, it's so very hard to turn back. But meanwhile, I'm wearing double clothing, slippers and a hat in the house. While I can't provide a photo, I assure you, it's very fashionable.

I've been listening to a hypnosis CD each night before bed. The results have surprised this skeptic. [link]

I had to give in and turn it on before Halloween even. *sniff* *sniff* My boyfriend had the audacity to catch a cold at the wrong time, so it wasn't like I could tell him to just throw on another blanket while he was sitting on the couch, you know? (That said, our temps are supposed to get into the 20s next week, so I probably would have caved soon anyway.)
That hobby farm is gorgeous. The more I see these the more I'm tempted to abscond from the city...
I almost caved yesterday...I'm sure the time is near.
I've never met anyone who left the city for the country who wanted to go back. Often I talk to people who want to move even further out into the country.
There's certainly no turning back for me.
No heater on here yet!!! We haven't had a frost yet though. That will happen soon I am sure. Its been beautiful fall weather here in the 80's I am loving it!!!
Oh my goodness! That photo is simply breathtaking! Such a beautiful composition. Thank you for sharing. Cindy at Rosehaven Cottage
That is an absolutely amazing scene! What a sight to drink in!
Hahahaha. I'm in good company then. I'm in a stand-off w/ my furnace as well. I do this every year. Last year I slept in double Pajamas and a zamboni knit ski hat clear thru to mid december. I just got a new furnace last week but trouble with the ancient gasline means no available heat until next saturday. I must be a control freak cause now that I can't run my furnace, I simply must. Also, love the photo of the black squirrel (rodent). They are hard to find here in Pennsylvania but I love it when I spot one. Stay warm, no matter how.
