garden tour 2009 #9

This house is very old for this area. It's around 180 years old.

The garden looked fairly young but off to a good start.

I noticed the lupines and delphiniums are all 'goosenecking' this year. Must be something to do with the weather....

There's a waterfall and pond by the back porch:

Sedum in a tea cup:

This is another view of the garden by the front of the house:

I would have loved to see inside the house. It was very nicely restored and had huge outbuildings that seemed to be used as additional apartments.

5 turtle dove(s):

Hi Melissa .. this is a great tour even if it is restricted to the outside .. I love seeing the inside of old houses too : )
The ladder and the sedum in a cup are cute touches to the garden .. I woner what the goose-necking is about ?

I have been searching for an old wooden ladder all summer. I had the same idea but was planning on growing vegetables on mine. But now that the deer are munching on my pole beans I am second guessing the vegetables. Maybe some vining flowers. The tea cup is nice also. I'm for sure going to find one of those. Already have some sedum. I'm still planning on sedum on the barn roof for next year. I love that...gotta sell the idea to the husband. Thanks for all the tours. I gotta find more around here!

Thanks for sharing this tour. It is lovely! Can't imagine living in a house that old. A lot of ghosts there probably?(-: Everything is so green and pretty there. Its so hot and dry here! Hot days dry things up fast!
