sedum shed roof

We saw this shed on a garden tour.

I hope one day we can eliminate shingles all together and have sedum rooftops on our houses instead.

It's pretty, no?

I think everyone should have a sedum roof. And then a tin roof that encludes a rain barrel. I'd love to know how to do this...any ideas?

By the way, your veggies look great!

I am so glad you posted this. I can see how it may have been done. We have just the shed to try this on...

I love seeing "green" roofs like this one .. and sedum especially because it loves the siun and heat and is so easy care .. if I saw this I would stand there looking at it for a very long time enjoying the view ! : )

hi Wammy, There's a lot of stuff online now about building these roofs. It takes some know-how to ensure that the shed roof can safely manage the weight of the plantings because it's not just soil and plants but the wood supports plus rain water, which can get very heavy indeed.
